Tribeca
High Rise
Set in Herzog & de Meuron’s striking Tribeca high-rise—aka, “the Jenga building”—this pied-à-terre is all about blending bold design with eclectic textures and finishes. From the glass-and-metal-clad millwork to the glossy electric paint job, this high-flying apartment provides views inside that are as glittering as the cityscape outside.
Bringing the night sky in, the media room features constellations matching the owners’ zodiac signs. Each star is a pinpoint optic fiber light inset into blue suede-wrapped millwork panels that cover the walls and ceiling.
A concrete pillar anchors the dark and moody primary bedroom while a Lacrime del Pescator light fixture made of three nylon nets decorated with crystals adds lightness. Just visible is the adjacent dressing area with cabinet doors in smoked acid-etched mirror and a custom jewelry closet with sunburst metal panels.
Look closely at the walls in the powder room. This custom wallpaper is made from thousands of individual bird feathers (ethically sourced, of course), creating a rich, 3D effect.
